UPDATE FOR 16th APRIL 2023
The Public Inquiry to decide whether the planning applications by Cala Homes and the Polo Field should be permitted will start on Monday!
The Government-appointed Planning Inspector, Mr Michael Boniface, has decided to hear the two appeals together as conjoined appeals, and ALL LOCAL RESIDENTS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.
The Inquiry will take place as follows:
The Council Chamber, St Albans Civic Offices (next to the Alban Arena)
Monday 17th April at 10am.
Subsequent days:
Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st April at 9.30am
Monday 24th to Wednesday 26th April at 9.30am
Each day is expected to finish about 5.30pm
Please show your support for Keep Chiswell Green, our Green Belt and our village, and attend as much of the Inquiry as possible. You are welcome to arrive and leave at any time during the proceedings, so please attend on the days and times you can!
There are 45 places for members of the public on a first come, first served basis. However, there is no restriction on when participants may enter or leave the Chamber so if you are not able to enter the Chamber immediately, please do wait as a space will no doubt become quickly available.
If you would like to speak to the Inspector directly, please arrive on Monday by 11.30am at the Council Chamber with a written or typed copy of what you would like to say.
If you are unable to attend, the Inquiry will also be live-streamed so will be available to view online at https://stalbans.public-i.tv/
This is the point we have been building up to over the last year – please join us now for the final push to paint a picture for the Planning Inspector of how unsuitable this land is for massive housing developments, and save our Green Belt!
Further Inquiry details and documents are available on the SADC website at https://www.stalbans.gov.
We hope to see you on Monday!
